Once upon a time there was a man who was a traveler.
One day he found out that he did not have any food to eat.
He went into a nearby village to see if he could get some food.
He knocked at someone's door.
A woman answered it.
"Excuse me. I am a traveler and I have run out of food." He said.
"Could you give me something to eat?"
The woman said coldly, "I don't have any food. Even for myself."
He asked other houses but they all said "no".
What the traveler didn't know was that this village was very selfish.
The village people never gave any food to travelers.

The man was very hungry now.
He had to find something to eat on his own.
He looked around.
He only saw a big stone on the ground.
"Oh! I wish I could make food out of stone!" He thought.
And then he came up with an idea.
He picked up the stone and knocked on the housed again.
"Hello. Could I borrow your pot please?"
"What for?" the woman asked.
"Oh. I'm making stone soup." The man answered and showed her his stone.
"Stone soup? You can't make soup with a stone!"
"Yes I can! You can watch if you want." The man said proudly.
The man made a fire and put the pot full of water on the fire.
Then he put the stone in the water.
After a while the water began to boil.

The villagers heard about the strange man making stone soup.
So they came to watch this strange man and his soup.
The man looked into the stone soup.
"Is it ready yet?" a man asked.
"No we have to wait for the stone flavor to come out."
"But, some carrots would help." The traveler said.
"I have some!" the man answered and went home and brought carrots.
So they put carrots in the soup.
"Is it done yet?" another woman asked.
"Hmm... You wouldn't have any onions would you? It would make the soup even better"
"I could bring some onions." The woman said quickly.
And so they put some onions in the stone soup.
The man stirred his soup and sniffed at it.
Pretty soon he said, "You know what? Stone soup is not good without potatoes."
Another villager said, "I have potatoes! I can bring them!"
So potatoes went into the stone soup.

The traveler kept stirring the soup. The soup started smelling very good.
The villagers started getting hungry.
"Is it done yet?" they asked.
"Well… There's one thing missing in this stone soup."
"What is it??" they all asked.
"A chicken, and plenty of salt and pepper."
So the villagers brought them and they put it in the soup.
The man kept stirring the soup for a long time.
Then the man said, "Now the soup is perfect!"
At last the man lifted the stone out and he served the soup.
My! The soup was good. Everyone in the village enjoyed the stone soup.
The traveler was very full now and he was happy.
All the villagers thanked the traveler for his wonderful stone soup
The traveler just smiled and said, "Oh! It was nothing!"

▶ 건축공학과 

"시공+설계+구조+설비" 이 모든 전공을 모두 할 수 있습니다.

건축공학과를 졸업하여도 설계를 할 수 있습니다. 

많은 학생, 일반인, 설계사무소 종사자들은 건축공학과를 졸업하면 설계를 할 수 없는것으로 알고 있는 경우가 많아 안타깝습니다.

배우는 전공내용은 "시공+설계+구조+설비" 과목을 배우되 모든과목 비중이 동일합니다.

▶ 건축학과 

"설계"를 할 수 있습니다. 

건축학과를 졸업하면 시공이나 구조 설비 쪽은 가기 쉽지 않습니다.

배우는 전공내용은 "시공+설계+구조+설비" 과목을 배우되 설계과목 비중이 큽니다.

▶ 실내건축학과 / 인테리어학과

이 두 전공은 거의 동일합니다.

실내디자인을 주로 배우게 됩니다. 

주택, 사무소, 박물관 등의 인테리어를 중심으로 배웁니다. 

그러나 기본적으로 건축물의 설계를 합니다.

건축학과에서 다루고 있는 대부분의 내용을 다 다룬다고 보아도 상관 없습니다.

▶주생활학과(주거환경학과)

건축학과 / 건축공학과와  유사합니다만 박물관, 학교 등 큰 건물은 다루지 않고 주로 주거용 건물을 다룬다는점이 다릅니다.

배우는 전공내용은 "시공+설계+구조+설비" 과목을 배우되 주택설계 비중이 큽니다.

[왜 학과명이 다를까?]

보통 건축과 관련된 학과로 진학하는 경우 대부분 건축관련 직업을 갖기를 희망하는 경우가 대부분입니다.

건축설계를 하는 사람의 궁극적인 성공은 건축사가 되는것이며, 시공이나 구조, 설비를 하는 사람들은 기술사가 되는것일겁니다.

하지만 국내의 실정을 보게되면 실무에서 하게 되는 일은 관련학과를 보기보단..

건축의 큰 테두리에서 일한다고 생각하는게 좋습니다.

건축공학과를 졸업하면 졸업장에 "공학사" 학위를 받습니다. 

그러나 건축학과를 졸업하면 "건축학사" 학위를 받습니다. 

그러면 이 두 학위는 무엇이 차이가 있을까요? 

국내에서는 취직하는데 아무런 차이가 없습니다.

건축학사나 공학사나 아무 의미가 없다는것입니다.

하지만 차후 대학원을 가서 석박사를 하게되면 차이가 있습니다. 

건축공학과를 졸업한 사람은 "공학박사"입니다. 

건축학과를 졸업한 사람은 "건축학박사"입니다. 

공학박사는 연구소나 대학교 모든곳에 취업할 수 있습니다. 

그러나 건축학박사는 연구소에 취직할 수 없습니다.

건축학박사는 공학도가 아닌것으로 봅니다. 

바꾸어 말하면 건축학과를 졸업한 사람은 공학사가 아니고 건축학사이며 따라서 공학도가 아닙니다.
