Jason Kidd could only watch from the bench as Dirk Nowitzki missed two jumpers and Jason Terry's last shot was beautifully blocked by Bruce Bowen (see video below).

In the end, the Mavs couldn't land the knock-out punch, lost the game, and their fans and media haven't stopped second-guessing them since.

According to the Dallas Morning News, The Mavericks were incensed by what they said was a flying elbow tossed by Bowen at Terry. It was Terry's drive with 3:44 to play in the third quarter that had put the Mavericks up, 67-57. After the play, Terry suddenly confronted Bowen and was handed a technical foul. Owner Mark Cuban said the Mavericks turned the play in to the NBA office for review by league officials.

"He got elbowed," Cuban told Eddie Sefko. "Jet's not going to go after him just for his health. And Danny Crawford, of course, called a technical on Jet and then he gets another technical on Avery. When's the last time we won a game with him? What's our win-loss record?"

"I'll let somebody else look up the Mavs' record in games worked by Danny Crawford," responds the newspaper's Tim Mac Mahon. "I did crank up the trusty TiVo to watch the possession that resulted in Jet's T. Didn't see Bruce Bowen make any contact with him, much less throw an elbow. I went back several possessions and didn't see Bowen, a known cheap-shot artist, do anything wrong. The Mavs might turn the play into the league for review, but they won't use TNT's video."

Or perhaps, the Spurs should turn in video of Cuban standing with his players and coaches in the area of the Dallas bench? That's a no-no. The league has warned Cuban not to do that and could easily fine him for the violation.

이에 대해 (어느 신문사인진 안 나왔습니다.) 신문의 Tim Mac Mahon은 신뢰성 있는 TiVo이란 장비를 준비해서 여러 구간을 재생해 봤으나 보웬이 테리를 팔끔치로 가격한 건 찾아볼 수가 없었다고 합니다.

어쨌든 리그 측에선 큐반이 비디오 테잎을 제출할려는 거에 대해서 규정 위반으로 벌금을 물 수도 있다며 경고 했다고 합니다.

If Hall of Fame forward Rick Barry had to choose where his son would finish his career, he said it would be an easy decision.

"Playing the Mike D'Antoni style would be so conducive for him," Barry told Sports 620 KTAR.

Rick, who is in Phoenix to participate in the Kyle Petty's Victory Invitational Celebrity Golf Tournament, said his son, free-agent sharpshooter Brent Barry, is still undecided as to which team he will sign with, but has limited his choices to Phoenix and San Antonio.

"I would love to see him play for the Suns," Barry said. "It would be the first time that he would play on a team where he could showcase his talent."

Suns General Manager Steve Kerr flew out to meet with the NBA's most coveted free agent, Brent Barry, but there was no agreement that Barry would join his team.

The Arizona Republic Newspaper reported that Kerr dropped in on the San Antonio home of a wavering Barry to make a two-hour pitch to him and his wife, Erin, on Tuesday.

Barry has apparently decided that his choices come down to two teams: San Antonio and Phoenix. A Final answer may come Wednesday.

Each team is offering a veteran's minimum contract that includes the 2008-09 season, but the Spurs are believed to be sweetening the pot with a possible third year deal.

"I've spoken with Brent," Kerr said. "I met with him and his wife, and we're awaiting his decision. He's very seriously considering it."

"There have been so many changes over the past few days, it's very difficult," Barry told the San Antonio Express-News on Tuesday morning. "Just because I've cleared (waivers), I don't have a timetable that today is the day I have to decide."

A source, speaking to Sports Illustrated's Marty Burns also says that Barry has narrowed his choices to Phoenix and San Antonio, with Barry leaning to a return to San Antonio to join his former teammates as they try to get another ring.

In a surprising development, Marty Burns of Sports Illustrated is reporting that P.J Brown, a 34-year-old power forward who has been living in Louisiana since finishing out his contract with the Bulls last season, has backed off his previous decision to stay retired and is now seriously mulling an offer to join an NBA team.

"The Hornets are widely assumed to be the front-runner, but the Suns, Mavs, Spurs and Celtics also could be in the hunt. Bartelstein, who also represents Brown, would not specify which teams had made offers, but he did say Brown had undergone a change of heart and was now weighing his NBA options."

San Antonio tried to sign Brown to a free-agent contract, but he opted for the Hornets at the time. Gregg Popovich and R.C. Buford have long been fans of Brown's defensive abilities and rebounding.

Of course, the Spurs' latest acqusition, Kurt Thomas, is a very similar, physical player that brings many of the same qualities that Brown brings.

Could the Spurs be adding on one too many new players to the mix as the Spurs head down the final stretch into the playoffs? Already Damon Stoudemire and Thomas are tasked with adapting to the Spurs' system and learning the ropes for a new team takes critical resources from the coaching staff and players- not to mention, a tedious hill for all to climb.

개인적으로 컷트 토마스를 영입한 이상 필요가 할까 싶긴 합니다만 뭐 어쨌든 머릿수는 많을수록 좋은 게 아닐가 싶기 때문에...-_-; 현재까진 호넷츠가 브라운을 잡을 가능성이 가장 높은 팀으로 알려져왔습니다만 별 근거 없는 얘기였던 거 같습니다. 현재 호넷츠 말고도 맵스, 스퍼스, 셀틱스 정도가 노리지 않을까 싶다고 합니다.

스퍼스가 브라운을 잡을려고 했던 적도 있었습니다만, 당시엔 브라운이 호넷츠 쪽으로 많이 기울어 있었나 봅니다. 스퍼스가 브라운을 노리지 않을까 하고 생각을 하는 이유가 팝과 뷰포드가 상당히 좋아한다고 하네요.

개인적으로 지금은 상황이 좀 바뀐 터이기 때문에 여전히 달려들까는 좀 의심스럽네요. 뭐 경쟁 팀으로 못 가게 막는다에 의의를 둬야할까요? 나이도 많은 선수가 워낙 오래 쉬어서 지금 상태가 어떨지는 좀 회의적입니다.

야오가 빠지는 휴스턴이 잡으면 어떨까 싶기도 하네요.

Brent Barry was dealt to the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday but as many expected, he was waived Thursday afternoon to clear roster space for the Sonics' multi-player trade deal. Barry had missed the past three weeks with a torn plantar fascia and it is uncertain when he will return, so the Sonics paid him the prorated portion of his $5.4 million deal.  He is now free to sign with any team, and already several teams have raised their hands in interest.

A person with knowledge of the intentions said that the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs all plan to at least talk to Barry.

Barry was included in the deal that landed Kurt Thomas in San Antonio, but there was immediate speculation that Barry might find his way back to San Antonio in the very same way that Jerry Stackhouse was going to return to Dallas before being nixed from the Jason Kidd trade.

The Spurs can offer the largest contract, having not spent their mid-level exception, but Barry- who is expected to be sidelined two to three weeks with a calf injury- would have to sit out 30 days before returning to the team that just traded him.

The Express-News reports in morning editions that "there are reasons to think Barry will wait. But he has every right to weigh his options and rethink what he wants to do. After all, he's been hearing trade rumors for several years.

"Now it's his turn to decide."
