I got an email from my friend in Boston about sponsoring orphans in Vietnam. I heard that these kids are all born with AIDS. I've been thinking about helping poor kids lately, but I was just too lazy to find a right organization. Last week, I finally finished this one, "A Thousand Splendid Suns".

I had read this book for quite a long time since this one is pretty thick =(.

The author of this book, Khaled Hosseini, wrote 'The Kite Runner' as well.

I liked it very much and this one too. These two books share the same place and the same time period, 

but have different characters and plot.

This one has two main characters, Mariam and Laila. 

Mariam is a harami, an illegitimate child, had lived in hell for most of her life, but at the end of it, she met Laila and her life changed. She was suffered a lot under her husband's violent temper.

Laila was born in a typical family and raised as a lovely daughter.

She lived happily until her brothers were brought to a war and killed.

Her mother was shocked and almost lost herself. The misery started...

Her friends were killed one by one by a missile or a bullet, and her closest friend and love left the city and went to Pakistan. Right after that, her parents were killed by an accident and she was badly wounded but survived.

The one who rescued her was the husband of Mariam, and he wanted her to get married with him.

From that point, the story was about these two women who happen to live in the same house and share the same husband, and their unhappy life with their husband.

At the end, they somehow got out of that house, and Laila met the old lover again and live happily ever after.

Mariam... who killed her husband was hanged, but she was happy because of Laila.

Mmm.... I didn't mean to write this long... but anyway this is the summary of the book.

From both of Khaled's books, I learned that how the Afghanistan war progressed, 

and I could see how terrible a war is... His writing is so detail, so I can feel like I am actually watching the scene in the text. You can see how both women get through their miserable life and feel the pain and anger of them.

I'd like recommend this book as one of the best novel I've ever read... he's probably one of the greatest story teller.

If you are looking for a book to make you feel the others' joy and anger in their life, this would be the right one for you.

Hmm... when I first plan to write a review, I wanted to talk about something more emotional, but somehow I ended up summarizing the book. anyway~ DONE!

ㄷㄷㄷ... 왜 이런걸 보는거야... ㅠㅠ

잘본다고 달라질 것도 없고 못본다고 어떻게 되는것도 아닌데 ㅡㅡ;;;

뭐랄까 하는 일이 개개인별로 다 다른데 잣대는 하나로 두고 '역량평가' 라는 이름으로

결국 줄세우기 하려는게 맘에 안든다. 뭐 이거 가지고 특별히 고과를 어떻게 준다던가 하지는 않겠지만

그래도 자꾸 평가 받아야 한다는게 (한 일이나 프로젝트 라던가 라면 모를까나) 맘에 들지는 않음.

직원 에게는 뭔가 계속 요구하면서 직원을 위한 임금 등에 관해서는 별로 노력을 기울이지 않는것 같아 상당히 아쉽다.

역대 최고의 실적을 냈다고 주가는 치솟는데 과연 그 결과에 따라 직원들에게 어떤 보상을 돌려줄지...

왠지 또 어물쩡 어물쩡 지나가 버릴것 같기도... 

사람들이 은근히 '특별 보너스' 같은걸 기대하던데 뭐 있음 좋지만 너무 기대하진 말아야지 엉엉 =0=

아무튼... 다들 심심하면 노래나 들어 보아요 =0=//

전에도 있었는데 못찾았던건지... 아무튼 뭐 ㅎㅎ

요로코롬 생긴 거인디 사진이 작아서 그렇지 실제 사이즈는 엄청 크다고 하는군 =0=

아침에 단조로운 사운드로는 잠이 잘 깨지 않는 관계로 티비를 사긴 너무 비싸고 라디오로 ㅎㅎ

뭐 한가지 더 활용도를 생각해 보자면 아침에 굿모닝 팝스를 들으며 영어 공부를 좀...우앙ㅋ굳ㅋ

가격은 대략 22800원 정도 줬구먼~ 아... 가격도 그런데로 착하고... 

사실상 카드 보너스 포인트로 샀기 때문에 거의 공!짜! ㅎㅎㅎ

아~ 회사에 오랫만에 왔더니 일하기 너무 싫다... ㄷㄷㄷ

그래도 훈련소 보다는 회사가 훨씬 초흠. ( =_=)b 훗...

뭐 어떻게든 되겠지... 쩝쩝... (/=_=)/

아아... 4주간 훈련소에 있으면서 남는 시간이 많아서(그렇다고 할 수 있는 걸 할 수 있지는 않음), 

혼자 이런저런 잡생각을 많이 하게 되는데 가장 괴로웠던건

뭔가 하고싶은(또는 해야되는-물론 나와서 해야 되지만...) 일이 생각나도

당장 아무것도 할 수 없다는 것이었음.

별로 대단한 일들도 아니지만 지금껏 살면서 그토록 구속 당해본 적이 없어서 참으로 답답하더군.

처음 3일간은 이러다 내가 미치는게 아닌가 싶었음... =ㅠ=;;

아무튼... 이미 많이들 전해 들었겠지만 나름 잘 열외 없이(훗...) 모든 훈련을 마치고 돌아왔고

몸은 특별히 아픈곳은 없고, 몸무게는 5kg가 넘게 빠져 버려서 나오자 마자 밥먹고 몸무게 쟀는데 62.6kg..........

그러나 겨우 3일이 지난 지금 몸무게는 64kg를 넘어섰고... 순식간에 원상복귀 될듯 -_ㅠ

아... 바지가 끼지 않는 느낌은 상당히 좋았는데 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

아무튼~ 이제 슬슬 완전한 사회로의 복귀 작업 고고싱~

조만간 천천히 얼굴들도 보드라고~ ㅎㅎ
