Bradley Stanfield: I said no. She’s a child.

Ellenor Frutt:
Listen to me: You have serious monster issues here.
To the world and to the potential jury pool,
you are the man who murdered his pregnant wife and unborn son.
The best way to humanize you is to let the jury see you as a father and not a killer.
And the best way to accomplish that is to have your daughter by your side at your side.

Bradley Stanfield: And what will that do to her?
To have to sit there and listen while her father is . . . demonized before the . . .

Ellenor Frutt: She’s already hearing that everywhere she turns.
I think the real question is what will it do to her to see you go to prison,
which is exactly what we’re looking at.

Bradley Stanfield: You need to get me out on bail, Ellenor.

Ellenor Frutt: Brad, you are up on double homicide! I hardly think . . .

Bradley Stanfield: You need to think of a way. I need to address a potential jury pool.
For that, I need to have a news conference. To do that, I gotta get outta here.

Ellenor Frutt: The judge is never going . . .

Bradley Stanfield:
Ellenor, I need you to start demonstrating the zeal that comes with defending an innocent

man.
Homicide suspects are sometimes afforded bail.
I need you to accomplish that courtesy for me—now!

Judge Harrod: Gentlemen, thank you for coming in.

Judge Harrod: I’m informed you still plan to argue self-defense.

Eugene Young: Actual, defense of others, but same principle.

Judge Harrod: You’ll not be arguing self-defense or defense of others, Mr. Young.
There’s no factual basis for it, and it won’t be asserted.

Eugene Young: Well, we have to be allowed to put on a defense.

Judge Harrod: Well, you won’t be allowed to put on that one.
Let’s watch together, shall we?

Eugene Young: We’ve all seen the tape.

Judge Harrod: You’ll see it again—with me.

Ellenor Frutt: Insanity?

Eugene Young: It’s all we’ve got left. Tara . . .

Ellenor Frutt: Jamie, I need that motion on Lemony.

Alan Shore: enters Ellenor.

Ellenor Frutt: Alan! Hey, what’s up?

Alan Shore: I embezzled. Allegedly. sees Tara Wilson Could I have some coffee, please? With cream? Tara

Wilson looks taken aback to be given an order for coffee Thank you. I’d be such a natural here.

Ellenor Frutt: Wait a second. You expect me to recommend you for employment after you stole . . . ?

Alan Shore: The important thing is: I feel . . . icky.

Ellenor Frutt: Alan . . .

Alan Shore: I’m the leading anti-trust lawyer in the state. I’m going through an enormous character growth.

Ellenor Frutt: Just the same.

Alan Shore: And I need a break.

Ellenor Frutt: I’ll tell you what. You do a case for us today; see how you like it.

Alan Shore: Today. I could . . .

Ellenor Frutt: pushes a file at him Misdemeanor battery. Homeless person—kissed somebody.

Alan Shore: You certainly don’t expect me to walk in and try a case on the fly.

Ellenor Frutt: If there’s any problem, I will be on vibrate. pats her phone on her hip, then turns to walk out

Alan Shore: following after her Ellie, Ellie. stopping her I have issues with homeless people.

Ellenor Frutt: What issues?

Alan Shore: They don’t like me. I think it must be cultural.

Ellenor Frutt: Look, I am late for a motion. You try the case. Then, we’ll talk. pats his chest, then walks out

I believe quite strongly in law and order.
We are a nation of laws, and it would be wrong for me or any lawyer to say it’s okay for one person to take the law into her own hands.
So I won’t argue that.
Even if children were dying in front of her, as was the case with my client. Even if she had to witness teenage drug
addiction, gunfire, sometimes the killing of innocent people, such as her own two-year-old daughter.
As I said, it would be wrong for me, as an officer of the court, to argue that she be allowed to take the law into her own hands.
So I won’t argue that.
I won’t argue self-defense or defense of others.
But you all heard what was in her mind.
It is within the power of this jury to vote your conscience, and I would implore you to dig into your conscience today.

Of course not.
It is totally irrelevant that the police weren’t protecting her neighborhood.
Also irrelevant that the conviction rate for drug arrests in Boston is below ten percent.

Put that out of your minds.
Drug use is going up, while drug arrests are going down.
It’s out of control.
But it has no relevance here.
What are we as parents supposed to do?
That’s a rhetorical question, of course.
Not an issue for today.

As a matter of law, Aisha Crenshaw should have waited for the police to respond, even though they weren’t responding.
She should have let the children become drug addicts or drug dealers.
She should have let them continue to die.
She should have done nothing, and let all this happen
because, after all, we are a nation of laws.

1. 비지니스는 전쟁이다. 가깝게는 사내에서부터 시작하여, 후엔 시장이라는 거친 필드에서 이루어지는.
일반 전쟁과 다른 점이 있다면, 적의 섬멸 보다는 내 편으로의 확보가 가장 큰 승리라는 것 정도.
(상품 기획에서 개발실 조져봐야 남는 건 자신의 기획을 실현할 의욕을 상실해 버린 맥빠진 개발자 밖에 없다)
뭐 따지고 보면, 예전 손자 어르신도 싸우지 않고 이기는 것이 전쟁의 상도라고 하셨으니
비지니스 전쟁이라고 해서 특별히 예외라고 생각할 필욘 없을 지도 모른다.

2. 비지니스 전쟁, 특히 사내에서의 전쟁은 이메일, 전화 통화에서 부터 공식적인 미팅까지 다양한 상황에서 일어난다.
좀 유난스러운 면도 없지 않지만, 상급자에게 메일 한통, 품의서 하나 쓰는데 하루가 걸리며, cc에 누구를 넣을지에 대해
반나절은 고민한다는 모 그룹장의 발언도 신중하게 생각할 필요가 있다.

그가 항상 신경쓰는 것은 보고 받는 사람이 이 문장을 어떻게 해석할 것인가이며,
이렇게 쓴 메일과 품의서가 훗날 일이 잘못 되었을 때 자신에게 '책임'이라는 족쇄로 돌아오게 하지 않기 위해
정말 최선의 노력을 기울인다.

어떻게 보면(아니 사실이 그렇긴 하다) 지나친 보신주의가 아닌가 하는 생각도 들지만..
기업이라는 정글의 세계. Top에게 말 한마디 잘못했다가 바로 그 자리에서 목 날라갈 수 있는 흉험한 세계에서
그 정도 주의력은 노력의 산물이라기 보다는 생존의 본능에 가깝다.

물론, 개인의 조직에서의 생존을 위해 하는 대부분의 행동들이 해당 조직의 생산성이나 성과에는 별로 좋은 영향을 못 미치는 게
(아니, 사실 대부분이 안 좋은 영향을 미칠 것이다) 문제긴 하지만.

3. 보고자는 만반의 준비를 다 해서 전장에 나가야 한다. 이 전장의 무기는 말빨이요, 방패는 Data, Fact, number다.
(때론 이 둘의 관계가 바뀔 때도 있겠지만, 대체로 일 추진은 말빨로 하고 디펜스를 자료와 숫자로 하는 사람이
그 반대로 자료와 숫자로 일을 추진하고 말빨로 디펜스를 하려고 하는 사람보다는 가치창조에 더 적합하다고 생각한다. )

사내 전투에서는 대강 적/아가 사전에 구분되기 마련이며, 상대방의 공세가 대강 어떨 것이라는 예상은 충분히 가능하다

가장 좋은 해결책은 상대방의 공세를 원천 봉쇄하는 것이다.
모든 장표에 전달하고자 하는 명확한 Governing Message와 이를 fully back-up할 수 있는 근거를 마련해 놓는다면
이건 마치 전신갑주를 두른 기사와도 같아서 적들은 항전의지를 포기한 채 top뒤에서 우릴 따라 올 수 밖에 없다.

4. 문제는 세상에 이런 보고서를 만들 수 있는 기회는 흔치 않다는 것.
비지니스의 정글은 노련한 포수에게도 언제나 미지의 영역이 남아 있는
말 그대로 불가지론이 정설일 수 밖에 없는 미궁과도 같은 곳이다
(때문에 유능한 컨설턴트와 능력있는 비지니스맨은 소녀시대와 원더걸스 만큼이나 다른 영역의 인간들이다.
소녀시대와 원더걸스는 매우 비슷한 아이돌 그룹아니냐는 생각이 들거든..
주변에 일코중인 덕후들에게 이 둘의 차이를 물어보거나, 본인의 포스팅을 기다려 보길..)

주어진 시장 data에 대한 합리적/논리적 접근만 가지고선 customer의 복잡한 마음을 파고 들 수 있을리가 없다.
1+1 = 2 라는 것은 나도 알고, 경쟁자도 알고, 무엇보다 소비자가 알고 있다.
때론, 너무나 당연한 상식을 실천하는 것이 위대한 도전인 시장도 있겠으나..
소비자는 자신이 기대했던 것 이상의 가치를, 아니 자신이 무의식적으로 원해 왔지만 미처 알지 못했던
잠재적인 이상형을 제시하는 플레이어에게 top tier, 1st tier의 지위를 허락한다.

5. apple과 google에, 우리의 IM이니, GBM이니 하는 마케팅 조직이 있을까?
아니 우리와 같은 상품기획 프로세스를 가지고 있을까?
그들은 자신의 고객을 어떻게 정의할까.

아무런 정보없이 그냥 해보는 예상이지만, 최소한 현재 elec device와 IT의 global top tier인 그들은
왠지 STP는 안 할 것 같다는 생각이 든다.
왜냐면 그들이 제공하는 서비스와 제품을 보고 있으면 STP관점이 잘 안 잡히기 때문이다.
아니 STP관점에서 분석이 가능하다고 해도, 그건 단지 해설에 불과하다는 생각이 든다.
내가 경영학 수업을 통틀어 가장 선명하게 기억이 남는 말은..
경영학(자)은 본질적으로 운동 해설(가)과 같다는 조동성 교수의 뼈있는 농담이었다.

프로 게임팬이라면 너무나 익숙한 상황들이 있다.
승부에 결정적인 영향을 미치는, 프로 게이머의 묘한 컨트롤, 혹은 판단에 대해
해설자들이 온갖 시나리오를 가정하며 해설을 한 후 나중에 게이머에게 직접 물어보면
'그냥', '왠지 해야 할 거 같아서', '아무 생각 없이'라고 대답하는 비중이 꽤나 높다.

그 아무 생각없이 왠지 해야 할 거 같은 그 느낌, 논리적인 분석의 세계를 뛰어 넘는
본능과 통찰이 없이는, 고객의 자체 인식내에 존재하는 단절을 뛰어넘을 수가 없다.

6. 뭐 물론, 아직 햇병아리 상기인, 마케터이기에 STP에 대해 아는 바는 쥐뿔도 없지만.
앞으로 몇 년은 같이 해야 할 tool에 대해서 벌써부터 부정적인 인식을 보이는 것은..

궁극적으로 Frame은 그걸 통해 세상을 바라 볼 때보다
그것을 벗어나서 세상을 바라 볼 수 있을 때 더 크고 풍부한 의미를 줄 수 있다고 믿기 때문이다.
창틀을 통해 바라본 세상보다는, 그 창문을 열고 몸을 한껏 공중에 기대 바라보는 세상이 더 아름답지 않은가

결국 초식은 초식을 잊지 위해 익히는 것이다.
결국 화두는 화두를 내려 놓기 위해 드는 것이다.

서투르게 득도연 하려는 생각은 없다. 나의 지향이 그렇다는 것이고.
아직 의천도룡기의 장무기처럼 초식을 잊어가는 경지를 말하기엔
현재 나의 양가, 황룡식, 신권은 모두 저질이다 못해 저열한 수준이다.

MIT에서 Ph. D를 하고도 신입 컨설턴트 시절, 항상 2시간 더 남아
매킨지의 모든 프레임웍을 분해하고 결합했다던 오마에 겐이치의 분발심이 지금 나에겐 필요하다.

addict.이란 이름을 스스로 지은지 어언? 10년이 넘어가는 것 같다. 얼핏 기억으로도 96년도니까.
나란 존재를 규정하는 가장 중요한 키워드는 무엇일까...고민 끝에 한 단어 집어 든 것이 바로
중독.이었다.

무엇인가에 중독되지 않고선 삶의 활력을 찾지 못하는 나의 나약함을 고백함과 동시에
그런 나를 인정하고 긍정함으로써 그나마 중독 대상이라도 잘 고르자는 소박한 희망을 품은 이름이 addict.이다.

요새 내가 사는 꼴을 보고 있으면. 스스로가 참 한심하기 그지 없다.

일주일에 한번도 태극권을 하지 않는 내가
일주일에 책 한권도 읽지 않는 내가
일주일에 한 편의 글을 쓰지 않는 내가

도대체가 무슨 '나'란 말인가.

깨달음을 추구하는 태극권사로서
평생을 통해 글로서 세상과 소통하겠다고 결심했던 초심을 지키지 못하는 이상
스스로를 addict.이라고 부르기가 싫다.

요새 오로지 내 스스로의 정체성을 확인하는 것은 소시덕후 모드...일 때랄까. 쿨럭.

일코.라는 오덕 전용 용어는 '일반인 코스프레'의 준말로서
자신의 오덕됨, 혹은 덕후지성을 감춘 채 '마치' 일반인처럼 생활하는 것을 말한다.

피곤에 찌든 대기업 사원으로서, 집에 와서 잠만 겨우 자고 나가는 불성실한 남편으로서 살아가는 것은 이젠 관두자.

일단 내 스스로의 본성에 충실하여 온전한 '나'를 지킬 수 있을 때.
그 외의 모든 역할 또한 제대로 수행할 수 있을 것이다.

태극권사인 활자중독인 addict.으로 돌아오길 바란다.

사람을 힘들게 하는 것은 일의 과중함도 있지만.
그 속에서 어떤 의미를 느끼느냐에 의해서도 결정된다.

회사일과 결혼준비. 양쪽에서 곤란해 하고 있지만.

오늘 만큼은 기분이 무척 좋다.

앞으로 곁에 두고 싶은 후배를 '재'발견했을 뿐만 아니라
이미 평생 곁에 두겠다고 생각했던 후배와도 좋은 궁합을 보일 것 같아
막상 당사자들보다 내가 더 흥분된다. ㅋ

(원래 주선자가 설레발 치는 만남 치고 좋은 결과 보이는 경우는 별로 없지만..)

오늘은 정말 예감이 좋다. ^_^
꼭 들어 맞아서 지금 내가 그리는 그림이 현실화 되길 빈다. +_+

그나저나 결혼 d-2 이다.
실감이 안 나는게...걱정?

이미 결혼선배인 최대리에 따르면.
그게 정상이란다.
실감을 느끼는 순간 늪에 빠진거라나? 쿨럭

그룹 미팅
- 그룹장님의 공식적인 퇴사 annouce.
- 전 직장에서도 나 뽑았던 실장님-넘버1, 소장님-넘버2, 넘버3가 모두 퇴사. -_-;
- 마찬가지로 들어간지 3개월 좀 지나서 조직개편으로 연구실 공중분해..
- 이번에도 들어오자마자 조직개편으로 팀해체. -_-;
- 교육 갔다오니 나를 뽑아 주신 그룹장님 퇴사 소식.
- 목자 잃은 양떼가 되버린 우리 그룹의 향방은 조직 개편의 회오리 속에서 이제 어디로. -_-;
- 전 그룹장님은 product manager -> project manager -> PBL -> 사업부장 으로 성장하라고 마지막 조언

인터뷰
- 이상하게 저번 산학 인터뷰도 그러더니 남과장님과 들어가는 인터뷰는..사전에 알고 있던 것과는 전혀 다른 상황이 되버림
- 자료 구매 요청하러 갔다가 소원소리(?) 분위기가 됨. -_-;
- 바빠 죽겠는데 2시간 잡혀 있었더니..OTL

- 조용기 같은 사람과 같이 지내는 것이 정말 천국일까. -_-

스테이징이 정말...ㄷㄷㄷ. 공간 구성이 별로라 저역에 부밍이 좀 심했지만..도저히 일어날 수 없을 정도였다
6500만원 짜리 스피커를 두고 이미자 틀어달라는 아저씨를 보면서 '쫌~'이라는 생각이 들다가도..
어차피 나 역시 '소녀시대'와 '보아' 잘 나오는 스피커 찾고 있으니 피장파장이라는 생각에 이해..
꿈 꿀 만한 가치가 있다
- YAMAHA : 세팅을 꽤 잘 해 두었고, 무엇보다 soavo의 소리가 생각보다 훨씬 좋았다. 된장. OTL
샘플로 틀어 준 MISIA의 BD LIVE가 인상적. 이제 BD MUSIC 타이틀을 모아야지
- B&O와 MERIDIAN. 예상보단 소리 괜찮더라. 물론 난 그 돈 줘야 한다면 딴 스피커 사겠지만
- 이제 본격적으로 다시 시작해야 하므로 테스트용 음반과 BD TITLE 좀 구매

준원형 결혼식
- 청첩장 받았을 때도 몰랐는데, 가서 보니 형 아버님이...YS시절 장관하셨던 분이더라.
어쩐지 그 화환의 행렬이란. -_-; 부인 될 사람이 PWC 본사 TAX CPA라고 해서 형 재주도 좋아~라고 생각했으나..
오랜만에 줄 서서 기다려서 인사해보니 형네 집이 더 ㅎㄷㄷ이네. -_-;
나중엔 YS도 왔다.
- 화환에 우리 그룹 회장님과 정통부 장관님...의 화환이 나란히..OTL KISDI원장님도 오셔서 담소를 나누시더라는..
- 정말 오랜만에 성모형을 만났다. 마지막 받은 명함이 J-COM이었는데..여전히 김종학 프로덕션에 계시더라.
이젠 실당님..잠깐 필름있수다를 장감독과 함께 했다고..취직할 때 성모형부터 찾아가야 했었구나..하는 생각을 뒤늦게..ㅋ
공교롭게도 나에겐 현재 최대이슈인 X위원님과 친한 사이라고..동네 참 좁군.
- 고대교수로 귀국했던 병준형은 모교 교수님으로..빠르군효.
- 듣다보니 MBLEE의 둘째 사위도 동문선배더라..의대 선밴가? 어릴때 얼굴 한번 본적있는 거 같은데..
- 잘 나가는 선배들 이야기 듣다보니 만감이 교차..그나마 MBA갔다 온 동기 역시 명함에 대리.라고 적혀 있어 위안을..
삼으려 했지만, 거기는 대리가 우리 차장급..^_^;
- 가볍게 동문 후배들을 봤는데..졸업한 얘들은 모두 연수원...ㅎㅎㅎ

그룹장님 환송회
- 사람 많이도 모였다. 그룹장님이 정말 인덕 하나만은...
- 마음 싱숭생숭한 팀장님이 온 몸을 날리는 폭격을 날리는 화기애애한....환송회.
- 팀장님과 그룹장님은 2차에서 전사.
- 그룹원들과 이런 저런 이야기 하면서 앞으로 우리의 운명을 걱정

후와...일주일동안 정말 일이 많았군.
다음주엔 또 어떤 폭탄이 우리를 기다리고 있을까.
사실은 우리가 폭탄을 만들고 있지만.
