  1. Atmospherics 가 팝업 뮤직창 모음이란건 아실거 같구요.<br />
BGM 을 몇개 추가했어요. YNQ 의 개개 멤버(?) 들의 앨범 몇장인데, 안들어보신 분이라면 꼭 좀 들어보라고 하고 싶네요.<br />
<br />
2. 100 시리즈는 이미 완료가 됐습니다. 공개가 안된 130 여장(WHAT?) 은 왔다 갔다 아며 택스트를 더했다가 지웠다가 하고 있는데요. 이유는 저란 인간의 경험은 늘상 부족한 경우가 대부분이기에 별반 다를 거 없는 택스트나 어구나 반복하며 앨범을 소개하긴 싫어서요. 이미 IMM 을 통해 다룰 외전 중 하나인 Fanatik 의 프로덕션은 화일을 업하기도 했는데, 그러고 나니 더 할말들을 생각하게 되고 그렇습니다. 하여간 애초에 이 시리즈는 레어한 음원과 존재의 소개는 아니었다는 것을 저 자신이나 그리고 이곳을 들려주시는 몇몇 분들에게 다시금 강조하고 싶네요. 하여간 이때까지 소개한 여러 존재와 앨범들은 또 여러 계기점이 된다 생각합니다. DB 를 뒤져보시면서 제 유년, 청년의 어떤 한면을 여러분도 느껴보실 수 있음 좋을 것 같습니다.<br />
<br />
3. 또 여러 포스팅이 가면 갈수록 없던 성의가 더 없어지는 이유는 지금 티스토리 계정의 활용이나, 어떤 씨발년이 건드린 .COM 에 대한 점 때문에 그렇습니다. 이글루로서의 연장이 조금은 망설여지는 시점이거던요. <br />
<br />
4. 그외에 개인적으로 피곤하기 보단 골똘해지는 일이 많아서, 붙잡고 할라 그래도 좀 집중을 못하겠네요.<br />
<br />
5. 하여간 그렇습니다. 모두 여름같은 봄의 절정 5월을 잘 보내시길 바랍니다. <br />

Kankick 의 2001 년 Debut 作 'From Unknown Artz' 의 수록된 곡. 뭐 앨범이야 세기의 시작에 서서 유유히 쳐 빛나는 역작임을 나 너 그리고 우리는 알고 있다. 하여간에...Montage One 이다. 랩 잘하고 프로덕션도 잘 빚는 녀석인데, 데뷔 안하네. 뭐 그래서 그냥 생각나서 쵸즌 해보았어. 이 사람의 프로덕션과 이 트랙외에 랩빨을 듣고 싶은 분은 한국서 이그지빗으로 알려진 엑스트로눼뤼 미스터 엑스투더지 엑지빗의 2집 40 낮밤 을 들으시면 됩니다. </body><br />

굳이 소스를 알려 하지 않아도 되고, 아주 익숙한 핏의 킷 쵸이스의 무난함을 알던 모르던 캐취가 되는 부분이 아닐까 생각됩니다.<br />
Respiration 은 Original 을 솔직히 더 아주 많이 좋아하고 감상하게 되지만, 이 리믹스는 꼭 듣게만 되는 무엇이 있죠...<br />
하여간 잘 만들었음.<br />

여름이 왔고. 뭘 기다렸는지 모르지만, 작년에 Yesterday's Unverse 에서 선보였던 프로젝트 Jackson Conti.<br />
나왔네. Azymuth 의 드러머 Ivan Conti 'Mamao' 의 합작입니다. <br />

Madlib loves Brasilian music. <br />
<br />
Back in 2002 that wasn’t so obvious. At that time he was beginning the experiments that led to the Yesterday New Quintet records from 2003 to today. Peanutbutter Wolf used to slide Coleman and myself CDs of those early “rehearsals” as Madlib would call them and we spent many hours dissecting and discoursing on them and how he was changing the music.<br />
<br />
When the possibility of the Keepintime crew going to Brasil came up I asked Madlib one night outside the Rootdown if he wanted to go. “Cmon man…. Azymuth is one of my favorite groups” he confided. I had seen many Azymuth records over the years, the Rio de Janeiro trio on Milestone with some dodgy looking covers. I knew their proto-house anthem Jazz Carnival but they weren’t my favorite group. <br />
<br />
Music has a beautiful way of making you re-evaluate what you may have discarded. Madlib is an artist that gives one new ears every couple of years if you choose to pay close enough attention. I’m happy to say that in regards to Azymuth - Madlib blew our heads open. The next time I saw him at the Rootdown, he slipped me a CD of covers. All Azymuth. To this day that CD still makes me giddy. Entrando Pelo Janela from that session made it onto the Keepintime remixes. Madlib had gone through the Azymuth catalogue and taught himself to play his favorite songs and then recorded it. Okay. Now I’m back at the record store frantically looking for those dodgy looking covers.<br />
<br />
When we went to Brasil to recruit drummers the only name I knew I wanted for sure was Mamão. Mamão is the drummer of Azymuth. I didn’t know how to pronounce his name right and indeed my pronunciation of Azymuth (Azze-muchi if you need to know how its done!) confused most Brasilians. João Parahyba of the legendary Trio Mocoto picked up the phone and called him for us and from there Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti was a part of the project.<br />
<br />
Mamao is a fantastic drummer and a warm generous person. That scene in the film where we played him the Madlib CD is a beautiful emblem of the spirit of the Brasilintime. Mamão reacted with genuine excitement at the music - singing and playing percussion along with it. Even calling in his wife to hear. We knew that a Madlib, Mamão collaboration would only take time and organization.<br />
<br />
Mamao of course isn’t simply the drummer of Azymuth. He has a long career in the studios of Rio that stretches back to the Jovem Guarda era with the rock group the Youngsters and which includes sessions for Roberto Carlos, Marcos Valle, Maria Bethania, Hyldon, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa among many others. He is also the drummer on the Dom Salvador record with the monster break! He continues to be active playing and producing many projects for Far Out Records.<br />
<br />
In 2006 after the Premiere of Brasilintime in Sao Paulo, Madlib, Coleman and I went to Rio. We had two reasons to be there, to play at MD2’s record release party and record with Mamão. On a rainy humid Rio evening we convened and after some deliberations Mamão played an hour and half of rhythms. The excitement in the room was palpable as he went through his paces. Lots of Whooos were heard and pounds were swapped. <br />
<br />
Madlib then played a new CD of tracks that he had been working on with this project in mind and there was one that stuck with Mamao. Segura esta Onda is that track and it is really a tribute to Azymuth. Mamao ended up singing on it. <br />
<br />
It was a great night and within two months Madlib had turned those rhythm tracks into the album you have in your hands.<br />
<br />
Filled with songs from the greats of Brasilian music of the mid sixties to early seventies. Luiz Eca, Chico Buarque, Joao Donato, Baden and Vinicius, Marcos Valle, Dom Um Romao, Airto even George Duke gets a look in. And of course Azymuth. <br />
<br />
This a very special set of music.<br />

Professing his love for Brasilian music and especially that of Ivan 'Mamao' Conti, the incredible session drummer well known for his work with legendary group Azymuth, and participant in the Brasil leg of the Keepintime project from a couple of years back. Madlib has obviously relished this opportunity to work with one of his heros and the results are total gold, marrying the slinky rhythmic charge of Conti with Madlib's inimitable musical mind to create a future summer staple. The album runs through classic Brasilian standards from the greats of mid sixties to early sevenites like Luiz Eca, Chico Buarque, Joao Donato, Baden and Vinicius, Marcos Valle, Dom Um Romao, Airto Moreira or Azymuth, and mixes them with new tracks devised from the sessions and scultped by Madlib into the breezy summer winners packed into the 18 tracks on offer. Highly recommended! <br />

고딩 때 내가 DJ U-Neek 에 대해서 '진보를 아는 새끼'라고 존나 좋아하면, 'BTNH 랩 없으면 좇도 아닌 새끼'라고 되게 모라고 하며 맞받아치는 - 되게 내 주위에 만연한 대결 분위기에 충실했던 - 녀석이 있었는데, 이 트랙 들려주었더니 그 새끼 샷뚸뻐껍.<br />
<br />
근데 이 트랙 가만히 보면 BTNH 가 아니라 그 누구라도 랩하면 아트로 들릴 트랙인거 같다. 단순한데 잘만들었어. 대기를 야하게 가르며 울려 내는 신디라인과 조금은 절며 투박하게(?) 피었다 버로우 되어버리기를 반복하는 드럼+피아노 향때문에 좀 좋아하게 될 트랙인 것 같다. 하여간 가만히 들으면 이 트랙이나 E.1999 Eternal 앨범이 전체적으로 BTNH 4명의 벨런스가 곡마다 기가 막히게 들어찼단 느낌이 팍팍 든다. - 아 그리고 진짜 하모니야 - 이 트랙도 들어보면 - 듣기도 존나 개 힘들어서 노력에 노력을 기하고 text 보고 읽어야지 알 지경 -  존나 대강 요약 - 모든 '양식(?)'이 충족하니 베풀고 나누고 아주 쩔게 피고 먹고 놀고 하자 뭐 이딴 건전한 새마을 운동 곡인데, 진짜 존나 좋다.<br />

멜로디컬하게 말놀음 하는 존재들이라 기억하고 좋아하는 요소들이 되게 많고 한데, 특히, 거기.<br />
Bizzy Verse 시작할 때나, Holla.. Holla!! 하고 이어갈 때 진짜 십대일때나 이십대일때나 삼십대 초입일때나 닭살 지대 돋아. 아트...!<br />

곡 잘만들고, 랩이나 훅이나 몇번 듣지 않아도 기억될 만큼 잘 쓰고 잘 내뱉고, 뭐 별로 흠도 없고 충분히 신나고 그런데.<br />
